This Bundle combines the three courses which make up the First Steps of the Beginner Level, the most important stage to get right on the harp.
Even if you have progressed past the Beginner stage, the First Steps courses hold my basic aspects approach to learning the harp, which form the basis of all the following steps. If you are a teacher it will provide you with systems, words and concepts to aid you in teaching this vital stage.
The Complete Beginner Level series gives you an in-depth foundation, covering approximately 5 years of beginner study, featuring video clips on technique, progressive repertoire development, and online support. The First Steps Bundle is recommended for those who would like to try out the courses without purchasing the Complete Beginner Level Bundle.
Hi, I’m Alice Giles
First Prize winner of the 8th Israel International Harp Contest, Artistic Director of the World Harp Congress Sydney 2014, with a wide-ranging solo career, from London’s Wigmore Hall, New York’s Merkin, ‘92nd St Y’ and Carnegie Halls, to Mawson Station, Antarctica. Regarded by Berio as foremost interpreter of his Sequenza II, founding Director of the Seven Harp Ensemble (SHE), guest artist at international festivals, soloist with orchestras, acclaimed recitalist and recording artist. A dedicated teacher, I've given Master Classes in most of the major music institutions, and I am currently Lecturer at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Awarded an AM (Member of the Order of Australia) for “Significant service to the performing arts as a harpist, mentor and educator, and through contributions to Australia’s musical landscape.”
