The Intermediate Technique Series is a series of courses covering the essentials of Intermediate Level harp technique. There are four courses in the series (Course 3 and Course 4 will be released mid 2025).

This Intermediate Technique Course 1 progresses directly on from the Fifth Steps of the Beginner Harp courses. It works systematically though different aspects of harp technique, in steps of increasing difficulty. It covers technical facility in scales and arpeggios of different kinds, but also aspects of harpistic technical and musical control. It is designed for students, and as a resource for teachers of intermediate level harp students.

The course includes around more than 1.5 hours of short videos, arranged together in the format of 8 lessons. You can move at your own pace, and revisit the videos at any time. The content is pre-recorded, but you can ask questions in the comments section under each video. They can be a useful resource to refer back to, to refresh technical concepts. The numerous close-up videos and photos are an ideal supplement for visual learners.

The course covers level-appropriate technical development on: Scales, arpeggios, arpeggiated chords, dominant 7ths, levers and pedals, trills and mordents, oscillation and stretching, and double notes. Scroll below for curriculum details.

The Intermediate Technique Courses are all suitable for both lever or pedal harp.

Music used is from the AMEB Harp Technical workbook Level 2 (Grade 5 to Grade 8): https://www.ameb.edu.au/2020-harp-level-2-technical-work. If you don't have the music you will still be able to learn by following the playing in the videos, as the basic concepts are universal and apply to any kind of exercise.

The Course is currently set up for one person per enrollment use only.

All prices are in US$.
