Carlos Salzedo: Five Studies for Harp Alone

Carlos Salzedo's Modern Study of the Harp, containing his new extended techniques and their notation and the Five Studies for Harp Alone, mark the beginning of a new direction in writing for the harp. Through working on these Studies the student learns essential aspects of advanced technique, with each Study focusing on a different technical aspect: Scales, Arpeggios, Grace-Notes and Trills, Double Notes and melodic phrases in natural sounds and harmonics, and Chords.

Each piece stands alone, and can be learnt separately. The course never expires, and each piece has ca. 30 mins of videos divided into short ca. 5 min clips, each one designed to accompany a daily practice session. You can re-visit the videos as often as you wish and ask questions in the comments section, using the advantages of the video lesson format to watch and listen closely to the demonstration of the technical demands.
